Iran Keeps Its Strategic Allies Informed on Talks with the U.S.
WANA (May 01) – The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, in a meeting with China’s Foreign Minister, said that Iran maintains clear principles and positions in its indirect negotiations with the United States and always keeps its strategic allies informed about the talks.
Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the representative of the Supreme Leader and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, met and held talks with Wang Yi, China’s Foreign Minister, on the sidelines of the BRICS security summit in Brazil.
During the meeting, Ahmadian stated: “Iran has clear principles and positions in its indirect negotiations with the United States and always informs its strategic allies about the process.”
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council emphasized: “China has always been an important political and economic partner for Tehran, and we intend to enhance this strategic relationship.”
Referring to the current state of international relations, Ahmadian said: “Cooperation between Tehran and Beijing can challenge unilateralism in the international arena and secure the long-term interests of nations.”
During the meeting, Wang Yi also said: “Beijing has always supported Iran’s principled positions in the region and in negotiations and is ready to further expand its economic relations with Tehran.”
The senior Chinese diplomat emphasized that Beijing is committed to maintaining exchanges with Iran at all levels, strengthening communication and coordination, defending legitimate rights and interests, safeguarding fundamental norms of international relations, and establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Iran.
Wang Yi described China as the Islamic Republic of Iran’s comprehensive strategic partner and stressed Iran’s right to use peaceful nuclear technology.
He further added: “Based on the strategic document signed between the two sides, China will strengthen its equations with Iran.”
The Chinese Foreign Minister said efforts are being made to ensure the upcoming visit of Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to China will be a landmark event in bilateral relations.
In this meeting, both sides emphasized the continuation of consultations on bilateral, regional, and international issues, including the nuclear file.
